LifeProof Now Offering Warranty Against Water Damage For iPhone and iPad

Up until now, if you were to purchase a rugged or water proof case, you would have to trust that their claims of “?-proof” were actually true. And up until this past CES in January, we hadn’t heard anything from anyone about actually offering a warranty if anything bad should happen to your device until we spoke with the crew over at Incipio. They will be offering a case sometime this year for the iPhone 5 that will come with a warranty for water damage. Great idea, but they didn’t implement quick enough and now LifeProof takes the spotlight off of them and shines it all over their dry iDevices!

Starting yesterday, April 2, 2013, LifeProof will offer warranty against water damage for not only their iPhone 5 model, but the iPhone 4/4S as well as the iPad version for 1 full year from purchase and registration of the warranty! This is huge, not only will you be able to get it for the iPhone, the iPad is also covered. The cost can be bundled in when purchase from the LifeProof website for a small charge of $10 for the iPhone models and only $20 for the iPad version.

This is protection against accidental water damage to your device, so don’t go throwing your naked iDevice into a toilet and expect them to cover it. And it also only covers if you carefully installed the case following their very detailed instructions.

But seriously people, this is huge and I wouldn’t budge at the price of $79.99 for the iPhone 5 model and only an extra $10 for 1 year of water damage protection. LifeProof is definitely stepping up their game and we thank them immensely for that!

We have the iPad LifeProof case for review now, and will be getting the iPhone 5 version here shortly. We’ll be a lot more excited now to know we can submerge our devices with the knowledge of protection from the manufacturer.
