Nice plan indeed, but only if it really works!! Now, you are not going to take away your child’s cell phone and she will simply not stop texting even when walking through the city roads. This means your child still has the probability of meeting with accident.

According to a study conducted by Stony Brook University, not only does the texting while driving leads to fatal or near fatal accidents, but also does the texting while walking. During the study, the researchers asked the participants to walk up to a certain point about eight feet away; first without any cell phone usage and then while texting and talking. The result showed that the participants veered off the original route with about a 61% of increase in the deviation. The participants even walked about 13% extra.

Wondering, what if your child meets with an accident while crossing a road or simply walking down the street? Well, you just don’t need to worry as the good news is that you also have the remedy for saving your child from turning into an accident-prone teenager!

Simply check the below tips to save your child from meeting with an accident.

Get Stricter with the Rules

So, the traffic authority of your city is doing fine setting rules, great indeed! But you need to set your own set of rules too. And when you’re going to do this, make sure you stay strict with the rules you set and you’ll see that your child is doing things safer than before.

If you are thinking what rules to set, have a look at these – no cell phone usage while walking through the streets, or you won’t have the phone anymore; no text chatting while crossing the road, or you’re texting tariff will go on holidays from next month onwards; and so on!

Follow your Child for a while

When you’ll simply instruct your child not to do a certain thing or make it mandatory to do some other of the things; there are chances that your child will lie to you and continue breaking all the rules you’ve set. Best is to check once in a while what exactly your child is doing. Turn into a detective and follow your child sometime, especially when she has the phone and has decided to walk to the restaurant nearby or to the cinema about a few blocks away from home and check if she is really not using the phone while walking or telling you lies about following the rules.

Teach, Teach, Teach

Show your child all the related videos available on the Internet. Tell her how and why it is dangerous. Teach her to resist herself from making or receiving a call or exchanging messages or text chatting while in a movement. Read out any new survey, study, or simply a news piece talking about the consequences of using the cell phone while making a move even if the streets are completely empty as it is quite unpredictable to make out if any vehicle is rushing down the road where you are walking almost carelessly.

Parental Monitor your Child’s Cell Phone

You’re damn sure that your child was walking through the city streets or crossing the crowded cross-roads around the market area, parental monitoring will let you know she was using the phone while walking through the streets or she was really good with the rules you’ve set for her.Using a proper child cell phone tracking app will do the task perfectly well! This will get you access to the text messages, call logs, chat histories through various chat messengers and Internet activities even if your child has deleted them away and since all the information will have proper time stamp, you’ll know when did the activities really took place and when they didn’t.

And some of the advanced technologies even let you check the GPS location of your child and since even this information comes with proper time stamp and let you check the route that your child took for reaching a certain place, you get to know if she stopped somewhere in the middle to make or attend a call or reply a text in a safe way or simply continued walking and chatting or talking to do the things in an unsafe way.
