As we are entering a similar minimum as Maunder or Dalton we can expect huge earthquakes again!
Looking at the current trend by 2017 we should be in the minimum period but for how long nobody knows? Looking at the big picture and trying to calculate a cycle it might stay there for at least 60 yrs but who knows? Intersting time lies ahead
Sunspots, sure. EM compressions in our magnetosphere from solar outbursts do act as levers that affect earth’s crust. But for a more direct indicator, how about looking closer to our fractured relative eggshell?
By that I mean, the moon. It is no secret to many now that the moon has been playing ‘rodeo’ all over the sky in recent years. It used to cover 5 degrees above and below the ecliptic plane each year for as long as the PHDs had been paying attention. Nowadays, it wanders through many degrees of latitude every two weeks, occasionally wandering in for a closer look as well.
Larger quakes pop off nearly like clockwork whenever the moon hits it’s new northern limit each month. Especially when coinciding with a “supermoon”…..Of course, there are many other interesting new solar system changes that have developed in recent years. The sun rising and setting over Canada in summer instead of 23.5 deg. north at the tropic of cancer which runs through central mexico is but one of many new examples….
