Is there a single true explanation of reality?

When we try to explain reality, we ought to consider what we are seeking. If we indeed could find such an explanation, which would then be true: reality or the explanation of it?

Philosophers have answered this question with that only statements about reality, ie, explanations, can be true, which raises the question of how we can find a true explanation of something that can’t be true. How can we truthfully explain something that can’t be true? This answer means metaphorically that only maps of the world can be true, although we have to accept that reality is more true than maps of it are.

This metaphor reveals the fact that there are more than one true explanation of reality, and does thus liberate us from the inconsistent search for a single true explanation of reality. There simply isn’t any single true explanation of reality.
