TDI International School Celebrates 2nd Anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission

3rd October 2016, With the aim to celebrate Swachh Bharat Mission’s second anniversary, TDI International School, Kundli ran campaign “Clean India Mission”. The campaign was conducted in order to ensure and educate the benefit of recycling and safety disposal of e-waste materials. The school witnessed an active participation by more than 200 students. Alok Edward, Principal, TDI International School, Kundli briefed the students as well as the teachers on the benefit of recycling & safety disposal of e-waste. A cleanliness drive was also conducted in the vicinity of the school.


Motivating the students, Alok Edward, Principal, TDI International School, Kundli said, “Cleanliness doesn’t just means keeping your surroundings clean, it means having clean thoughts, ideas,  and lifestyles which are necessary in order to bring hygiene. I am happy to see that the students participated in the program with great enthusiasm.”

Students were issued notebooks with “Green Pledge #SwachhBharatAbhiyan” written on the cover. They were assigned to collect signatures from their friends, relatives on the same, pledging to keep their surroundings clean. 4 students collected more than 1000 signatures in order to support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

A drop box was also set up at the school premises. The students were asked to collect e-waste like discarded computers, mobiles, televisions, hard drives, wares, circuit boards, printers, copiers, scanners etc. from their surroundings. The collected waste was later disposed-off safely. A certificate of participation was awarded to all the students.

Neha Bhardwaj from 5th class of TDIIS said on the occasion, “I am very happy to take the pledge of keeping my city clean. On the occasion of Swachh Bharat Mission’s second anniversary I request all the citizens to come forward and contribute their best to keep our environment clean. ”


A board with the pledge - As an Indian citizen, I take a green pledge that I will not throw any waste material on the road, but dispose it off in a proper manner. I also take responsibility for reducing wastage and spread the message to everyone I know’, was placed on the school bus which took rounds of the school vicinity. The nearby people came forward and signed it, thus taking the pledge to keep their city clean
