Numerous Artificial Rocks in Gale Crater, Mars

Explanation:
In the middle of lakes on Earth, there are no large boulders that was formed (not transported) on soil. In Gale Crater, Mars, there are numerous scenes (note 1) similar to the above two mosaics, all characterized by large objects sitting on soil near the summit.

If the large objects (red arrows) are natural rocks, why is there only soil (green arrows) and no bedrock formed under the “natural rocks”? Wind or water could not have transported the large objects there. So, the large objects should have formed in situ (at the site). If nature could have formed rocks there, why didn’t nature also form rocks under the “natural rocks”? So, the red arrows point to large artificial rocks, probably used for foundation of architecture.
