The years long friendship was seen on Monday when Amitabh Bachchan reached the residence of co-star Shashi Kapoor in Bollywood at the earliest to spend time with the family. Bidding final adieu he sat down to pen a moving tribute to the actor who shared repeatedly screen throughout the 1970s and ‘80s with films like Namak Halal, Kabhi Kabhi, Suhaag and Trishul.

The superstar started his blog post with India Today magazine’s cover photo featuring Shashi Kapoor before his Bollywood debut. He said the man was terribly handsome and he felt has no chance to stand in the industry against him.

Big B wrote, “Standing elegantly without a care in the world, I saw him standing by a Mercedes Sports car… a smart trimmed beard and moustache, adorning involuntarily… when men like him around, I stood no chance.”

The 75-year-old added that he had his haircut going for non-covering of ears only after getting inspiration from Shashi Kapoor as his hairstyle was emulated by most of the young men across India.

However, Amitabh Bachchan again noticed Kapoor’s semi curly hair falling careless over his forehead and ears, and thought to cover his ears again with hair. So he went to hair dresser to execute his plan.

Later both became co-stars and friends too. They turned up in a family relation. Daughter Shweta Bachchan is the wife of Nikhil Nanda, maternal grandson of late Raj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor’s brother.
