Iceland’s president says “global warming is no longer a joke” and the “ice caps are melting at record rates.”

He traveled to Playa del Carmen, Mexico to give this message – apparently because it was too hot in Iceland. Here is a picture I took in Playa del Carmen last month.

Iceland’s president was a child during Iceland’s coldest period on record. He apparently believes the cyclical warming which occurred during his lifetime is a linear trend and is unaware that Iceland was warmer in the 1940s.
