Mars Rover Drilled into an Artifact.

NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity is planning to drill into the above object. Red arrows point to vertical outer layers. Green arrows point to horizontal inner layers. No natural mechanism allows rocks to form this way. So, the object was made by Martians. The above object was imaged by NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity with its right-side Mast Camera on Sol 2053 (May 16, 2018) at Duluth near Vera Rubin Ridge, Gale Crater, Mars.

A green circle at extreme right contains curled-up remains of the artifact.

A yellow arrow at the far right points to a vertical layer that intersects a horizontal layer.

Red arrows at lower left point to vertical layers on the exterior.
