ALERT: Asteroids/Comets Close Encounters with Earth, March 2016

Expect some spectacular bolides,  fireballs, and meteors this month and especially large ones 3-5 days before and following the passing of 3 small mountain-sized NEO asteroids and 2 comets, diameters ranging from 500m- 2.5.km,  that will safely pass this month.

On March 5th two newly found asteroids will pass by Earth with 1.1 and 1.8 LD.

2) (2016 DN2)  2016-Mar-05    0.0047 AU 1.8 LD  12 m – 27 m

Asteroid 2013 TX68  2016-Mar-8  will pass at a distance of 0.8 LD (19,520 miles)  
to 13 LD  (3.1 million miles) according to Nasa.

Two Comets to make record close-approach during March 2016
On March 21 the comet 252P/LINEAR 12 will make its closest approach yet, passing just 3.1 million miles (5.3 million km). 

Comet P/2016 BA14 (PANSTARRS) is set to pass by Earth at a distance of 2.1 million miles (3.5 million km). This is a record-breaking approach to Earth for a comet!!! Comet’s P/2016 BA14 (PANSTARRS) passage will be the closest known comet flyby of the last 230 hundred years.
