Space and Quakes (asteroids Friday and Saturday)

Asteroids: Sorry about the dates yesterday on the first two asteroids. Asteroid (2016 RU33) will pass on Friday the 16th at the distance of 5.99 (LD) and (2016 QL44) on Saturday the 17th at the distance of 3.59 (LD). There are two more under 10 (LD) in September at this time, (2016 RM20) on the 20th at the distance of 6.18 (LD) and (2009 UG) on the 30th at the distance of 4.81 (LD). So far, looking ahead to October, there are no asteroids under 10 (LD) but one just over at 10.06 (LD).

(LD) lunar distance — all lunar distances are minimums.

Solar Winds: A stream of solar wind could brush Earth on the 16th and 17th.

Sunspots: Forecasters are saying, no more than a 1% chance of strong solar flares for the next 3 days.

Earthquakes: There has been 6 quakes of 4+ and 3 quakes of 5+ magnitude in the last 12 hours.

Storms: Tropical Depression Julia is expected to meander off the coast of Georgia and South Carolina for the next few days. Tropical Storm Ian is accelerating north-northeastward. Tropical Storm Orlene remains well out to sea. Tropical Depression Twelve is forecast to move westward across the tropical Atlantic. Tropical Storm Malakas (Typhoon 1) is forecast to head north of Taiwan (need to watch).
