NEW SOLAR STORM UPDATE: GEOMAGNETIC STORM UNDERWAY:
A strong G3-class geomagnetic storm is underway on Oct. 25th as Earth enters a stream of solar wind flowing from a coronal hole on the sun.

A G3 Alert was issued at 1059 EDT on 25 Oct (25/1459 UTC) with magnetospheric disturbances caused by Earth’s transition into increased solar wind speeds from a recurrent coronal hole.
Solar Wind Speed: 722 km/sec
Solar Wind Magnetic Fields: Bt 10 nT, Bz 0 nT
GEOMAGNETIC STORM UNDERWAY: A G1-class geomagnetic storm is underway on Oct. 25th as Earth enters a stream of solar wind flowing from a coronal hole on the sun. Storm levels could intensify to G2 as our planet moves deeper into the stream on Oct. 25-26. http://spaceweather.com/
A massive coronal hole is now turning into a geoeffective Earth facing position.
The solar wind speed increased to above 600 km/sec and going.
When this same coronal hole feature faced Earth in late September, the solar wind speed increased to above 700 km/s and brought along with it periods of Moderate (G2) geomagnetic storming. It is very possible that the same outcome will take place again.
Aurora sky watchers should all be alert for visible aurora during the next several nights.
