Asteroids: The next asteroid under 10 (LD) in October is on the 31st. It is asteroid (2016 TB57) size 26 meters passing at the distance of 5.23 (LD).

Sunspots: Both sunspots on the solar disk are quiet and stable at this time.
Meteor Showers: Overnite tonight the Orionid meteor shower is forecast to peak with as many as 20 per hour. Go outside about an hour or two before sunrise and look in the area of Orion. The gibbous Moon will be high in the sky also, so only the brightest meteors will be visible.
Earthquakes: There has been 5 quakes of 4+ and 8 quakes of 5+ magnitude in the last 11 hours.
Storms: Tropical Storm Haima (Typhoon 2) is now off the coast of the Philippines and forecast to make landfall north of Hong Kong.
