HERE: At first quarter, the places of the earth, sun, and moon make us see one-portion of the moon enlightened by the sun. The moon’s brilliant half is on the western (right-hand) side – around the setting sun. It ascends around early afternoon and sets around midnight, so the moon is unmistakable a fraction of the time by day – toward the evening hours – and the other half during the evening, amid the night hours. The name quarter moon, despite the fact that it’s truly a “half-moon” shape, alludes to the way that, beginning from new moon, our regular satellite has now totally the primary quarter of its orbital adventure around Earth.
