In December 2016, Space.com reported that NASA scientists had discovered omnipresent organics on Mars using the SAM instrument aboard Mars rover Curiosity (note 1). However, up to this date, no research paper has been published on this discovery.

Two years ago the Mars rover used the same SAM instrument to look for organics at Gobabeb in Bagnold Dune (note 2). No research paper has been published, either. In contrast, research papers on Mars rocks and minerals have all been published. Why is there such difference?

Earlier than the above-mentioned, NASA scientists did publish research papers on the discovery of a few simple organic molecules on Mars. Why did they stop publishing? President Trump will not cover up such discoveries. If there is no cover-up, then some people may be demanding a perfect research paper that proves beyond doubt that there are molecular signs of past life indigenous to Mars. In such a case, all the possible contaminants from Earth or meteorites need to be explored and excluded from the Martian organic molecules.
