Haunted Recording Studio

Now you’ve all heard of haunted houses, castles, cemeteries and old buildings.  It comes as no surprise to the folks in Gold Country in the Sierra Foothills located in Northern California that the area is known for the spiritual activity that goes on. Places such as the Stone House Brewery, National Exchange Hotel, The Holbrooke Hotel, Del Oro Theatre, The Round Room, SE Studios and many other places.  The folks at SE Studios located in Grass Valley, CA are no stranger to spirit activity that goes on. Nestled in a quaint little area in the Sierra foothills SE Studios not only records their recording artists but they record ghosts as well, and not always on purpose either. The CEO of SE Studios, Producer Robbi Spencer was recording a song for his wife, Recording Artist Shirl Spencer and at the end of the song, he spoke into the recording saying, “I love you baby girl”. When Robbi Spencer played the recording back, instead of hearing, “I love you baby girl” as he recorded, he heard instead, “no you don’t, no you don’t”.  Another artist by the name of Derek was in studio laying down some tracks and out of nowhere he heard an old woman call his name from right behind him. He came running out of the studio and into the office to notify the staff someone was in there with him, although he was alone.  A rap artist by the name of Daniel was recording and one day he came running out the studio in a sheer panic stating he heard someone talking to him although he too, was alone in the studio at time. Their investigations all started when both Robbi Spencer and his wife, Shirl Spencer were in the office working late when they heard the front door slam.  When Robbi ran to the door to see who was in the building, the door was still locked and nobody was in sight.  Many times when the phone rings you can hear footsteps to the answering machine on the upper level as if someone or something is checking the caller ID, and if you look up at the ceiling when you can hear them walking,  you can see their footsteps across the ceiling.  Bangs on the doors, slams against the walls, voices in their recordings, and every once in a while you can catch something moving or running throughout the building. One spirit which stood about 3 feet high was caught running from the office into the studio.  At first both Robbi and Shirl tried to ignore all the strange happening but when they would stay the night at the studio from working late, they would wake up to hearing them talk, cough, laugh or they would with bruises and scratches.  It was then they started investigating the building and thus, SE Studios became known as SE Haunted Studios and they began doing EVP’s and recording everything that was going on and running the video recorded when they stayed the night.  

The management stated that because there has been such an increase in activity they began doing EVP’s in the studio. What they heard back is incredible.  As a studio, they have many productions but because of the spirit activity they started a series called, SE Spirit Chasers. There you will see Producer Robbi Spencer, lead investigator who is also known as Preacher Robs along with his wife Shirl Spencer, Albert Leon III and others conduct several EVP sessions in the studio. During the recording of one of their programs, they caught what looked like a 2 foot imp looking spirit on video going up the stairs. They didn’t realize they had caught it during the time of their recording but when they reviewed the footage, they were amazed to see what they caught.

One of the partners at SE Studios was a skeptic until the previous owner of the place came over out of curiosity just to see if they’ve had any spirit activity and then explained the activity his company experienced while in the building.  Andy, the previous owner stated that one night as he was leaving the office I saw someone standing behind him in the reflection of the window of the door and when he turned around no one was there. As Andy was packing to leave the building because he moved his company into a larger building for his business, he stated that his radio looked like it was bleeding.  On the television program “Preacher Robs” and “SE Spirit Chasers”, Robbi Spencer who is ordained and is known by Preacher Robs, addresses the spirits that cause disturbances. The spirits however that do not get addressed are those who are peaceful and in need of help. It is only the spirits that cause problems and disturbances that gets confronted during filming.  Many people come to the Sierra foothills in Northern California to experience the spirit activity for themselves and are usually not disappointed.
