Colin Kaepernick’s Sad Self-Promotion at Expense of Honoring America’s Most Honorable

Part-time quarterback Colin Kaepernick has decided to sit out the traditional playing of the National Anthem prior to the start of NFL games. Today he explained his reason for doing so was his belief that America is a nation that oppresses and murders people of color.

It it appears it has been lost on Mr. Kaepernick that he is a man of middling ability who earns in the neighborhood of $20 MILLION dollars per season for throwing a football.

$20 million dollars clearly does not buy one intelligence, dignity or a sense of reality.

He claims America is a racist nation at a time when he earns a ridiculous sum of money for playing a game and that same nation’s president is Barack Obama. That is not to say racism in America doesn’t exist – it does, and likely always will. As Mr. Kaepernick has made it so clear, stupidity is also here to stay, and racism is nothing if not stupid. But it is not widespread, nor is it institutionalized. If it were, there would be no President Barack Obama, or a $20 million per year Colin Kaepernick among a myriad of other similar examples.

Where is Mr. Kaepernick’s outrage for Black on Black crime? That is the true ongoing tragedy in America. Where is Kaepernick’s disgust of record high Black unemployment? Or poor minority students being trapped in failing schools because they have a lack of choice?

Ah, but those subjects require at least some intelligence to discuss, and real work to find solutions.

Kaepernick’s public discourse is very similar to his quarterbacking: flailing, failing and forgettable, and as intellectually deep as a parking lot puddle.

Minorities make up a large segment of this nation’s Armed Forces. Minorities are buried with honor in cemeteries across America. Minorities have served, and died, protecting the very right that allows a spoiled, low-IQ quarterback like Colin Kaepernick to sulk and pout during the playing of America’s National Anthem.

Mr. Kaepernick does indeed have that right – just as the rest of us have the right to call him an ungrateful idiot for doing so.

He is a blight upon the NFL, a blight upon his team and a blight upon those minorities who have and continue to serve with honor and distinction. He offers no solutions, but rather goes for the easy self-promotion. America does have real problems and a need for real solutions, including providing the best future possible for ALL Americans, but public figures like Colin Kaepernick offer only continued divisiveness.

Shame on him.
