Thursday Night Football and color rush uniforms are upon us today!

The Patriots will take on the Texans with rookie QB Jacoby Brissett making his starting debut.

The Patriots are 2-0 behind two stellar Jimmy Garoppolo performances against Arizona and Miami. The Dolphins game proved to me Garoppolo will most likely be the next big thing in the National Football League. I mean he’s already better than all of the other AFC East Quarterbacks not named Brady. But, sadly he went down with an injury against Miami that will keep him out of tonight’s game and let the rookie draft pick start against one of the better defenses in the league.

The Texans are 2-0 and a very good team with a solid offense and a J.J Watt led defense that is better than good.

The Patriots’ defense hasn’t been overly impressive in the first two games, especially against Miami in the second half. They need to be so much better tonight. No more allowing a final drive to a field goal (thankfully the Cardinals missed) and no more (almost) huge second half comebacks. They need to lock the Texans down tonight. They have to, the Patriots idea tonight will be to game manage the heck out of this game. If the defense can do their part and Brissett doesn’t turn it over, they will be fine and stay in the game, maybe even win it.

Brissett will most likely be limited tonight by the Patriots. Check downs and safe routes to give the rookie some confidence. Every now and then they will let him air it out but I wouldn’t expect them to take the reins off him if they are in the game.

Brissett was a good college QB and he has all the potential in the world, tonight we will find out if he will be the future.

I have the Texans winning 20-17 in a close battle. Don’t get me wrong, I would not be surprised to see the Patriots win a 23-20 battle. Can’t wait to watch.
