Following an exciting 26-23 overtime win last night, the Texans learned today they have lost rookie strong safety K.J. Dillon for the season.
The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the safety tore his ACL and will need surgery.
Dillon immediately grabbed his knee and was helped off the field by trainers. After the game, the fifth-round draft pick from West Virginia was on crutches and went to get a magnetic resonance imaging exam on his knee.
Dillon was backing up strong safety Corey Moore and playing on special teams. He finished the game with one tackle on special teams.
Dillon gamely attempted to play through the serious injury.
