Anthony Rizzo wins NL Gold Glove award

Just a week ago, Anthony Rizzo and the Chicago Cubs were in the middle of winning their first World Series title in 108 years. Now Rizzo is picking up some more hardware. Rizzo won his first NL Gold Glove award as he was named the recipient at first base. The 27-year-old is a cornerstone in the Cubs young and talented core and showed that again in 2016. He also becomes the youngest first baseman to win the award in franchise history. Rizzo beat out Arizona’s Paul Goldschmidt and San Diego’s Wil Myers for the award. Goldschmidt won the award in 2015. Rizzo was fantastic at first base all season long and even made some head-turning plays. One of those included another catch near the tarp:
