Bears quarterback Jay Cutler (shoulder) missed practice again on Friday and is doubtful for Sunday’s game versus the Titans, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports.
Cutler injured his right shoulder in last week’s 22-16 loss to the New York Giants, but finished the game. Coach John Fox said on Wednesday that Cutler’s injury is not season-ending, but there is no timetable for when he may return in the final six weeks.
Backup quarterback Matt Barkley is expected to start versus the Titans at Soldier Field.
“Matt understands the game plan this week, his preparation — he’s a pro — but there are some things that he’s repping for the first time this week,” Bears offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said. “Practice has been a challenge that way, to see what he’s comfortable with, and really try to find out what he does well and how we can put him in a situation to succeed.
