The San Francisco Giants haven’t been quiet early this offseason. They’ve been talking with anyone and everyone out there. The latest rumors are that they’ve been in trade talks with the Detroit Tigers for power hitting outfielder J.D. Martinez.
Martinez is in the final year of his deal with the Tigers. Which makes him a nice chip for the Tigers to deal if they’re trying to trim some payroll. The question is, what will the Giants have to give up to get him? With Angel Pagan hitting the free agent market, this is the perfect time for the Giants to try an fill that void in left field with a big bat.
In 2016, Martinez hit .307 with 22 homers, and 68 RBI in 120 games. He was on the shelf (DL) for a while with an elbow fracture, which limit the games played.
Who wants to see Martinez in Orange and Black, and what would you give up to get him?
