Chicago Cubs Are Champions Again!

The Chicago Cubs team has finally broken the curse, and after 108 years it has won the Major League Baseball World Series. To do this, they had to beat the Cleveland Indians in the 7th match in the 10th inning scoring 8 to 7. After Cleveland led 3-1 in the series, nobody actually believed that the guys from Windy City would be able to return everything back. But they did want to win the World Series and bring the Cup winners to Chicago. And what about Cleveland? Cleveland was just unbalanced and unpoised. Once they led 3-1, they believed too much their potential success in the World series, and merely ceased to play like a winning team has to play in the World Series. And it is not now, in the seventh match, that they lost, but in the sixth game, which they lost 3 to 9. Even then everyone guessed and even saw an insatiable desire of the Cubbies to get rid of the curse. That’s what they just coped with. And that was the biggest bonus for the fans, even bigger than any online casino bonus.

Everything was against Cleveland that night. Corey Kluber was not finally able to stand the frantic pace and failed. In 4 innings, he missed six hits and four runs. It seemed that Miller could stabilize the play, but unfortunately, he missed 4 hits and 2 runs in 2.1 innings. But even here the Indians did not give up and continued to fight, and by the end of the 8th inning they tied the game at 6-6, moving the match in extra-innings. In the 10th inning Ben Zobrist excelled once again, beaten out RBI double, as well as later Jose Montero, who was able to arrange an RBI single.

However, the Indians did not give up, either. And again, they had Rajai Davis on the attacking end, who was able to beat out an RBI single, but they were not good enough to win the World series. It is interesting to look at how scoring hits were distributed by teams. In the Cubs all 8 runs were distributed by one run for each player: Fowler, Rizzo, Zobrist, Russell, Contreras, Ross, Montero, and Baez. That is, the whole team played. And in Cleveland 3 RBIs by Rajai Davis, who was helped by Santana, Guyer and a wild pitch. Everyone wonders what will be the next time the Cleveland Indians can reach the World Series?

MVP of the series (and he merited it) was handed out to Ben Zobrist. It is amazing how Joe Maiden managed to grow Ben in Tampa and then attract to Chicago, though in Tampa he hadn’t played so well. And although Terry Franconia has not won the World Series, he confirmed his topnotch level of sports management.

Let’s wish the Cubbies lots of new wins, and the Indians – to grow stronger.
