SF Giants: Will Smith, Gordon Beckham, Michael Morse and Barry Bonds

Lefty Specialist Needed

With the start of the season just a little over a week away, it’s time to start getting serious. San Francisco Giants reliever Will Smith will likely have Tommy John Surgery, which is a big blow to the Giants bullpen. They’ll have to decide who’s going to step in Smith’s role as a lefty specialist.

Only time will tell who manager Bruce Bochy is most comfortable with. I’m sure he’s already kicking the tires on Josh Osich, Steven Okert and possibly Ty Blach if he’s not in the starting rotation.

Giants Release Beckham

The Giants have recently parted ways with infielder Gordon Beckham. It was a long-shot for him to make the team with all the guys the Giants brought into camp. There’s only so many bench roles for a lot of big name players. Beckham’s time in San Francisco was short, but he seems to have brought a very positive energy to the Giants clubhouse. We wish you the best of luck in finding a new gig with another team!

Morse Hamstring Injury

Bad news for Michael Morse and his fans. Morse suffered a hamstring injury that has his chances of making the Opening Day roster in jeopardy. Morse did say if he didn’t make the Giants then he would be calling it a career. He was having a good Spring Training, so I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of Morse with the Giants. Maybe a few weeks in Triple-A, and then we can see him get called up to help the G-Men with some big pop off the bench.

Welcome Home Barry

If you’re a die-hard Giants fan and haven’t already heard that Barry Bonds is now part of the Giants front office… You must not watch TV or have any social media accounts.
