3 In A Row...

Against the wrong Sox, but still… they are wins.  The problem is the Red Sox just keep winning.

That being said, we swept the Chicago White Sox and that’s nice.  The big stars last night were Luis Severino and Giancarlo Stanton.

The Charlotte Observer writes:

“Luis Severino has been working on his slider with New York Yankees pitching coach Larry Rothschild. It’s beginning to pay off, too. Severino pitched seven effective innings in his first win in a month, Giancarlo Stanton hit his first grand slam in four years and the Yankees swept the Chicago White Sox with a 7-3 victory on Wednesday night. 

Aaron Hicks also homered as wild card-leading New York closed out a 3-4 trip with its third consecutive win. While Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez remain sidelined by injuries, the Yankees posted their first road series sweep of at least three games since a weekend set against the Angels from April 27-29.”

Things are clicking, but now we just need to keep going after the hole we dug ourselves in against Boston.  I’d hate to keep thinking Wild Card, but it’s where we are right now.  We don’t have the guts and groove we had early on in the season, and it doesn’t take a genius to know that. I laughed yesterday when I saw this chart on Twitter…

Give me a break… you don’t need a chart to tell you that the Yankees need to step it up.

Yanks win… Yanks sweep Chisox… but the Yanks need to keep grinding. That’s the bottom line.
