Climategate: BBC Expert Received CRU Emails a Month Before They Went Public

Here's your mainstream media for you;  a BBC correspondent failed to report important news to the public, even though they had received the same files a month before they were posted on a Russian server and became a world-wide sensation.   As reported by the Daily Mail (UK):

Paul Hudson, weather presenter and climate change expert, claims the documents allegedly sent between some of the world's leading scientists are of a direct result of an article he wrote.

In his BBC blog two days ago, Hudson said: 'I was forwarded the chain of emails on the 12th October, which are comments from some of the world's leading climate scientists written as a direct result of my article "Whatever Happened To Global Warming".'

That essay, written last month, argued that for the last 11 years there had not been an increase in global temperatures.

That essay was the reason why he was sent the materials, the insider-whistleblower tried to get the BBC interested in the story and they sat on it.  The result was the files were posted on the Internet and instantly became distributed through the blogosphere.  So why did he sit on what is obviously a treasure trove of newsworthy material?

However, Hudson does not explain why he sat on the controversial information for so long, but added: 'I do intend to write a blog regarding the CRU being hacked into, and the possible implications of this very serious affair.'

To Mr. Hudson, the hacking was more serious than the fraudulent models used to create the entire Climate Change monster.  The fact that a BBC reporter did nothing with important information while the world went down a path to rework the entire planetary economy with potentially fraudulent scientific models boggles the mind.

Well it would be fortunate if climate change is NOT happening, because changing the course we are on would require a massive undertaking that mankind seems incapable of achieving: COOPERATION on a planetary level. The prospects are dismal--we can't even get past partisan politics here in the US. So keep dragging your feet all you naysayers, you hold the key--withholding cooperation will doom us all. However I do expect you will come running when it's far past too late to do anything--crying about how nothing has been done. So let me ask, are you feeling lucky enough to do nothing?

Yes, I feel lucky enough to do nothing. Now get out of your yoga pose... put down the bong...and stop kissing that tree, you stupid one world, why can't we just all get along? screaming liberal. Do you really believe in Planetary cooperation? You can live by China's rules, or you can live by South Korea's rules or perhaps Iraqi concepts of the world.(Not Me) When does critical thinking take place in that huge liberal brain of yours? Is your utopic- perfect world not coming to fruition? ( OH DARN! ) But I'm sure you'll keep trying to make your one world dream come true. (NO MATTER WHAT THE COST IN PERSONAL FREEDOM AND OTHER PEOPLES LIBERTIES)

You are mistaken. He was forwarded a few emails or possibly even just one, which had within it a short sequence of preceding emails. He found his copies of his legitimately received email within the list of stolen files a month later on. He was thus able to confirm that at least this email in the stolen files was actually genuine. The email he received was apparently sent to him in the normal way anyone gets email. The large suite of files that was stolen included far more material. He did not sit on the stolen emails; he did not receive the stolen emails. He saw them the rest of the emails in the stolen compilation in the same way and at the same time as everyone else. Check out his own blog for confirmation: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulhudson/2009/11/climategate-what-next.shtml (QUOTE from Paul Hudson) As you may know, some of the e-mails that were released last week directly involved me and one of my previous blogs, 'Whatever happened to global warming ?' These took the form of complaints about its content, and I was copied in to them at the time. Complaints and criticisms of output are an every day part of life, and as such were nothing out of the ordinary. However I felt that seeing there was an ongoing debate as to the authenticity of the hacked e-mails, I was duty bound to point out that as I had read the original e-mails, then at least these were authentic, although of course I cannot vouch for the authenticity of the others. (END QUOTE) As it turns out, what was stolen included much much more than the little bit of email to which Paul had been a legitimate party. Like so much in this bizarre affair, you are working under bad miscomprehensions of what has actually occurred.

there is a document included in the hack that is called the rules of the game: http://www.futerra.co.uk/downloads/RulesOfTheGame.pdf this document is a brainwashing manual. it advocates propagating belief in AGW by psychological and marketing tricks and outright ignoring any dissent. here are my thoughts on this hideous document that in many ways i feel is more damning than any of the emails, and they are pretty damn damning! most of the true believers aren't able to think about this subject in any other way. huge parts of their self-image and self-esteem are bound up in the idea that CO2 is a sin they have left behind. http://foia2009.blogspot.com/2009/11/do-we-get-to-choose.html

one document contained in the leak is a perfect example of how difficult it is going to be to get these people off the idea that CO2 is poisonous or a driving factor in climate change: http://www.futerra.co.uk/downloads/RulesOfTheGame.pdf the rules are in fact a manual on how to use human nature, not scientific fact to spread belief in AGW. my thoughts on this subject can be found here: http://foia2009.blogspot.com/2009/11/do-we-get-to-choose.html

In his blog for BBC Look North, Hudson added: 'The e-mails released on the internet as a result of CRU being hacked into are identical to the ONES [my emphasis] I was forwarded and read at the time and so, as far as l can see, they are authentic.' By his own words he received more than one email and most likely the key ones people are talking about on the Internet, as he intimates. "Some would say that an enquiry is the only way to bring clarity to the science of global warming and climate change that has enormous implications for all of us." Yes, that would be a start. That and a good flogging of everyone involved.
