Lawyer's Nobel Peace Prize Medal Confiscated by Iran

As they continue their crackdown against dissent, AP reported today that Nobel Peace laureate Shirin Sbadi's medal was confiscated from her safety deposit box by the government.  According to the Norwegian government, this is a shocking first in history that something like this has happened.

Ebadi is a human rights lawyer who won the prize in 2003 for promoting democracy in Iran.  She was out of the country during the last elections and has not returned since.  Iran claims she owes taxes on her prize money, even though, as she claims,  Iranian tax law excludes prizes.
