Some people play Solitaire on their iPhones. Some update their Facebook profile. Some check the stock market. Now some are even improving their extra sensory perception skills. That's right: E.S.P.
The iPhone ESP Trainer was originally developed under a NASA program by Russell Targ at Stanford Research Institute.
"We have found that people are able to improve their ESP scores by using a machine just like this and get in touch with the part of themselves that is psychic. This is often called a clairvoyant ability, and can enhance your life in many surprising ways," according to ESPResearch.com.
At least one psychic recommends that people who want to develop their sixth sense play electronic games. "Find an electronic game where there is a target that you have to hit but at the same time, there are obstacles in your way that you have to get around. Play that game for some time. That feeling, that 'I'm in the zone' feeling, that sense of excitement and sense of knowing when you hit the target, along with that sense of relief that you hit the target, that is the feeling you get when you are doing psi work," says Demi Andre, a sensitive who works with the police frequently to solve cases.
The game is simple but addictive. The player attempts to predict which of four colored squares the application has chosen. A right answer causes the device to vibrate and provide other positive feedback.
In a year long NASA program with 145 subjects (under Contract 953653 NAS7-100) many people were able to significantly improve their scores. Four of the subjects improved their scores at the hundred-to-one level or better.
The ESP Trainer is available at the iTunes store.
