REPORT: NYT To Publish Scandalous Paterson Story Wednesday, Governor Meeting With Paper To Answer Questions
Yesterday evening we reported that the much-rumored NYT bombshell on Governor David Paterson was set to be published today.
We were obviously wrong on the timing, as no Paterson article ran today.
And though the Governor's office confirmed the existence of an article, they insisted to us, and on the record to Gawker, that it was a mere profile, and that there would be no bombshell.
Anyway, here's the latest fromWPIX, which directly contradicts the message coming from the Governor's office:
Update: The governor's office completely denies any plans to resign, and says "the Times story" will not run tomorrow..
Mr. Paterson's low poll numbers have caused Democrats to demand New York's first black governor not run for re-election, so New York's Attorney General Andrew Cuomo (D) can run for the seat his dad, former Gov. Mario Cuomo, held between 1983 and 1994.
Immediately following the resignation of New York's former Governor Eliot Spitzer (D) in March of 2008, who left office scandal plagued himself, Mr. Paterson admitted to an extramarital affair with another woman.
