Brown hits back at Kennedy for joke candidacy dig

WASHINGTON, D.C. - A stung U.S. Sen. Scott Brown lashed out at U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy today for insulting his landmark win by calling his candidacy β€œa joke.”

Brown said Kennedy’s remarks are β€œmean-spirited,” especially coming on the day he was celebrating being sworn into office.

β€œI was elected and the votes are certified and I’m here to do my job. It’s unfortunate that he would use mean-spirited comments like that at a time when we’re just trying to solve the problems of the Commonwealth,” Brown said today on his first full day on the job.
