Teacher would rather see OWN child DIE then allow a gun for self defense

I thought this was a joke but it is all too real!

Guns, teachers, and self-defense

I AM a math teacher at Brockton High School, the site of a school shooting earlier this month.

Current school security procedures lock down school populations in the event of armed assault. Some advocate abandoning this practice as it holds everyone in place, allowing a shooter easily to find victims.

An alternative to lockdown is immediate exodus via announcement. Although this removes potential hostages and makes it nearly impossible for the shooter to acquire preselected targets, it unfairly rewards resourceful children who move to safety off-site more shrewdly and efficiently than others.

Schools should level playing fields, not intrinsically reward those more resourceful. A level barrel is fair to all fish.

Some propose overturning laws that made schools gun-free zones even for teachers who may be licensed to securely carry concealed firearms elsewhere. They argue that barring licensed-carry only ensures a defenseless, target-rich environment.

But as a progressive, I would sooner lay my child to rest than succumb to the belief that the use of a gun for self-defense is somehow not in itself a gun crime.

I AM a teacher also, and if I'm going to lay my own child to rest, it will be AFTER I see to it, personally if I can, that her killer is dead FIRST! All this talk on the left and by the "progressives" about guns and violence and crime is sickening. Clearly this math teacher wasn't paying enough attention in World History, which happens to be my subject. Hitler and Mussolini, not to mention Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky, and scores of other tyrants and would-be tyrants alsoo believed in "Gun Control" and for precisely the same reasons stated above. It "level[ed] the barrel" for all the fish, a most uncomfortable analogy if I've ever read one. This man is correct in that it leveled the field, allowing all citizens to become victims without regard for individual resourcefulness, bravery, or intelligence. Study history. Of course, if we really wanted to stop school shootings all together, we would mandate that every teacher and principal in America be required to pass a marksmanship test and carry a concealed weapon. Who wants to walk into a building with dozens of armed guards and start shooting? -Concerned Citizen in Texas

Um... "unfairly rewards resourceful children who move to safety off-site more shrewdly and efficiently than others" Wow, is this quote insight into the liberal mind? As an aside, is it really an "unfair" reward when a resourceful person gets superior results for doing a better job than another person at the same task? Is it wrong to be "shrewd" (a negative word that means cunning - meticulous - resourceful) or efficient ? Ex. Isn't the point of grading is to recognize hard work and individual skill ? Is it unfair when someone gets an A ? Unfair when a slacker who skips class gets an F ? Do I "unfairly reward" the produce stand that offers fresher tomatoes than the stuff next door? We are not all the same. For instance, not everyone who owns a gun is a violent person. Not everyone is incapable of protecting themselves. And this 5 ' female owns a gun because a 6'2" attacker is "unfairly rewarded" by genetics and I'd like to level the playing field in the case of a life-threatening situation. One of my female teachers went missing two weeks ago and so did two other women in the area, a reminder on why it is better to be safe than sorry.

The poor people who suffered through Kristallnacht probably thought the same thing

The idiotic thing is that, such a person would prolly feel Holier-than-Thou, and have a sense of martyrdom, after placing their own flesh and blood on this altar of their own delusional making. Another “radically-saved” practitioner of “religious politics.” A “born-again-leftist”. Willing to lie, deceive and let others be killed for “the cause.” They say it is selfless; but even a quick glance exposes the fact that it is the Cult of Fascism.

This can't be real. Can it? Is it truly possible anyone could possibly believe a resourceful child (a child) should be punished. Possibly killed... This has to be a hoax. It just has to be.

There's nothing wrong with the use of deadly force in self-defense as long as the defender / retaliator is acting in defense of the inalienable and perfectly-natural and universally-valid human rights of life, liberty, private property, and the pursuit of personal happiness. The first article of private property is "the self" and all other rights are derivatives of and flow from these cardinal rights. These rights belong to all human beings, everywhere. There is one exception, however. Those who attack --- or who threaten to attack --- for the purpose of violating these rights, have foreited them for themselves.

Ah, spoken by a person who has no children. Since you're so interested in feelings, how does your child(ren) (if any) feel about a parent who would rather let him/her die than use any means to protect him/her? Your offspring must be less important than the cause about which your knowledge is so limited. Cranial rectal inversion prevents you from knowing that you don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.

Guns don't belong in schools, and anybody who thinks differently should be shot.

The amazing thing to me is that "Anonymous" has so little grasp of history. Only a few years ago, it was common to have a school rifle team, taught by local teachers, and with NO fatalities on record. Then we came to the wonderful "age of fear." With the onset of progressive educational theory, children were deemed too stupid to grasp the basics of gun safety, because their parents and teachers were terrified of guns. They still are. Most "progressives" or "liberals" are simply victims of government "Mommy-ism". "Please take care of me and protect me from the big bad WORLD." Shame on you!!!!! Grow a pair and stand up for yourself and your family! By the way, my name is Richard, and I don't need to hide behind "Anonymous".
