Israel's Ark Of The Covenant To Be Revealed

There are many legends of what happened to the ark of the covenant, but there is one in particular that has the backing of scripture and therefore has the most merit. The bible does not indicate what happened to the ark but there are other written documents that reveal these clues to us.

There is no indication whatsoever that it was destroyed but rather just hidden until the right time to be revealed and that time is soon approaching upon us. The ark is not underneath the temple mount as many believe it is. If it was, it would have been taken out and used in the second temple. But the ark was never used in the second temple because they did not know where it was.

The location of the ark with the most merit is that it was hidden by Jeremiah the prophet in Mount Nebo, the mountain that Moses saw the promised land from but was not allowed to enter into.

In our last news story, we explained how Israel will be coming out of Loammi the day of the great battle of Ezekiel 38 & 39. This is when Israel will be God’s people once again after many years of him hiding his face from them.

This will also be the time that the ark of the covenant will be revealed. Ezekiel 38 tells us that on the day of this battle that there will be a great shaking in the land of Israel, a great earthquake if you please.

More than likely, this great earthquake will reveal the ark of the covenant that is hidden in Mount Nebo.

The writings that tell us of the general location of the ark is the 2nd book of Maccabees chapter 2 which is found in the Apocrypha. The books in the Apocrypha are not commonly referred to as holy scriptures but rather just possible decent history.

2nd Maccabees chapter 2 tells us,

4 It was also contained in the same writing, how the prophet, being warned by God, commanded that the tabernacle and the ark should accompany him, till he came forth to the mountain where Moses went up, and saw the inheritance of God.

5 And when Jeremiah came thither he found a hollow cave: and he carried in thither the tabernacle, and the ark, and the altar of incense, and so stopped the door.

6 Then some of them that followed him, came up to mark the place: but they could not find it.

7 And when Jeremiah perceived it, he blamed them, saying: The place shall be unknown, till God gather together the congregation of the people, and receive them to mercy.

8 And then the Lord will show these things, and the majesty of the Lord shall appear, and there shall be a cloud as it was also showed to Moses, and he showed it when Solomon prayed that the place might be sanctified to the great God.”

So Jeremiah took the ark of the covenant, the tabernacle and the altar of incense and hid them in a cave somewhere on Mount Nebo. The scriptures tell us that Jeremiah did pass by mount Nebo when he went to the children of Ammon to warn them about the invasion of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. This map shows gives us a basic idea of Jeremiah’s route from Jerusalem to the children of Ammon:

Jeremiah said that the place shall be unknown until God gathers the people and receives them to mercy. Our last news story tells us that Israel will come out of Loammi on that day of that great battle of Ezekiel 38 & 39, which is when God will have mercy upon Israel. In Ezekiel 39 it says,

“25 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;

26 After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.

27 When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;”

So the day of this battle in the mountains of Israel is the day that God will have mercy upon the house of Israel. The great shaking in the land of Israel on this day will move the rocks that Jeremiah blocked the door to the cave of where he hid the ark and the ark of the covenant will be revealed.

These events will lead to the building of the third temple.

David Flynn`s 2008 book "Temple At The Center Of Time" locates the Arc thus: "A measuring line extended directly towards the east from the foundation stone of the temple mount must remain on the latitude of the foundation stone where the Arc rested in the Holy of Holies, which is north 31 degrees, 46 minutes, and 43 seconds. Its length must also be related to the Sacred Cubit, which is exactly 25.20 nautical miles. The result at the end of the measuring line touches the north slope of Mount Nebo less than a mile from its summit."- page 142
