2400 Canadian Soldiers deployed to Gulf Coast

2400 Canadian Soldiers and the 1 Combat Engineer Regiment based in Edmonton Alberta are on a 72 Hour notice for deployment to the U.S. Gulf Coast.

The 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (1 CMBG) frequently train with U.S. Army units including up to a 3 year secondment in the U.S. Military for Career Officers. The Canadian Engineer Regiment is often associated with the British SAS and their role in recent conflicts such as Bosnia and Afghanistan has seen them doing less reconstruction work and more urban pacification and counter insurgency operations.

Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for the militaries from either nation to send troops across each other's borders during an emergency, but some are questioning why the Harper government has kept silent on the deal.

Neither the Canadian government nor the Canadian Forces announced the new agreement, which was signed Feb. 14 in Texas.

Gen. Gene Renuart, and Canadian Lt.-Gen. Marc Dumais, head of Canada Command, signed the plan, which allows the military from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation in a civil emergency.

The new agreement has been greeted with suspicion by the left wing in Canada and the right wing in the U.S.

There is potential for the agreement to militarize civilian responses to emergency incidents. Also underway is a plan for the two nations to put in place a joint plan to protect common infrastructure such as roadways and oil pipelines.

If U.S. forces were to come into Canada they would be under tactical control of the Canadian Forces but still under the command of the U.S. military.

News of the deal, and the allegation it was kept secret in Canada, is already making the rounds on left-wing blogs and Internet sites as an example of the dangers of the growing integration between the two militaries.

On right-wing blogs in the U.S. it is being used as evidence of a plan for a "North American union" where foreign troops, not bound by U.S. laws, could be used by the American federal government to override local authorities.

"Co-operative militaries on Home Soil!" notes one website. "The next time your town has a 'national emergency,' don't be surprised if Canadian soldiers respond."

The people of the US need not worry if Canadian soldiers are deployed in the US to quell whatever it would be that they'd be required to quell BECAUSE the Canadian weapon of choice is a pea-shooter.... I'm Canadian so any Canadians that may be offended by that statement.... Too bad.....

Yeah, we need all the help we can get. Why? Because the President has mobilized thousands of National Guard troops, and the Gulf State governors haven't come up with a plan to use them. Wonder why it seems like Washington intervenes in everything? Can you say Bobby Jindal, Haley Barbour, Bob Riley, etc.?

I thought we already had such an agreement. It's just common sense. There is absolutely nothing more to this story than a mutual contract to help with disaster relief. It's great that some are trying to make a big deal out of it. Just note who they are and you will know to never listen to anything they say!!

PS. I forgot to add: Canada benefits more from this deal anyway since I don't thing Canada's military is big enough to respond to a really big disaster.

Perhaps Homeland Security can use them against the "returning vetersns, pro-life and extreme right wing elements" that Napolitano said we should all watch out for for terrorism a year ago!

"The new agreement has been greeted with suspicion by the left wing in Canada and the right wing in the U.S." This suggests some kind of political selectivity. Do you think the left wing in the U.S. are really pro-military and the right in Canada have no concern for sovereignty? Hmmm. The Canadians' troops carry full military weaponry that can take the head off of anyone here. The "pea shooter" comment is suspiciously disarming and absurd on the face of it. Hmmm. Remember, the Albertans had a politician head who when a farmer confessed to having mad cow infected beef - much of which is sold to Americans - said the farmer should have just shot, shoveled and shut up.............Enjoy.

New reports circulating in the Kremlin today prepared for Prime Minister Putin by the foreign military intelligence directorate (GRU) state that NATO’s Chairman of the Military Committee Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola has ordered 2,400 Canadian Military Forces to prepare for deployment in the United States oil stricken Gulf Coast region. As we had previously reported on in our July 4th report “NATO Orders All “Critical Assets” Moved 100 Miles Inland From Gulf Oil Spill Region”, Admiral Di Paola has taken defacto control from President Obama over this historic catastrophe over fears the American leader and his elite allies were using this disaster to reap untold billions in profits, and we had, likewise, reported on in our June 16th report “Obama To Earn Nearly $85 Million From Gulf Oil Disaster”. Admiral Di Paola’s ordered movement of these Canadian Military Forces follows his ordering of 7,000 US Marines to the Central American Nation of Costa Rica so as to have a better positioning of troops on both sides of the Gulf of Mexico should further disasters occur, and as we had also previously reported on in our July 8th report “NATO Orders 7,000 US Marines To Costa Rica As Gulf Oil Disaster Quake Fears Grow”. These latest moves by NATO of its forces in response to this catastrophe are occurring at the same time that BP is announcing it has successfully attached a new cap on their leaking deepwater oil well and is preparing to test it in what it says is an effort that will “effectively” shut it. These reports, however, state that BP’s new capping of this well, and if successful, would stem very little of the oil and methane gas escaping into the Gulf and appears designed as a “gimmick” to fool the American public and keep their attention diverted from the actual location of this spill which is coming from the fractured seafloor itself, and as we had previously reported on in our June 10th report “Scientists Warn Gulf Of Mexico Sea Floor Fractured “Beyond Repair”. http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1387.htm

Well, you do promote stockfreephoto.com. I dunno what your agenda is -- or if you have one -- I just hate it when articles hinge on secretive sources that only the author has access to. To quote Carl Sagan, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." But it is nice to see you retract that '2400 Canadian Troops' story. Unfortunately Faal has picked it up and is running with it... linking to your article here at Before It's News in his latest piece of doom porn! Teamwork, perhaps?
