Noah's Ark, the Ark of the Covenant and the Number 45

  “Genesis 6:15 – “The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, and the breadth of it fifty cubitd, and the height of it thirty cubits.” 300 x 50 x 30 = 450, 000 square cubits of area. 

  In mathematics there exist what are called Magic Squares, which are square grids (duh) that are either 3×3, 4×4, 5×5, etc. The Magic Square of 3 contains the first 9 numbers. The 4 square contains the first 16. The rows, columns and diagonals of these squares all add to the same number which is the ‘constant’ of that square. The constant is the total of the numbers in the square divided by the number of that square.

  The 3 square contains the first nine numbers which total to 45. Dividing by 3 we find the constant to be 15. The numbers are arranged so that all rows, columns and diagonal add to 15. [There is NO Magic Square of 2.]  As we saw the volume of Noah’s Ark was 450,000. The description occurs in verse 15 and we are told that, “Fifteen cubit upward did the waters prevail’”

  Coincidence you say? Consider the dimensions of the Ark of the Covenant in Exodus 25:10. “And they shall make an ark of shittim wood; two and a half cubits shall be the length therof, and a cubit and a half the breadth therof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. [Dimensions in the Bible are always given as L, W and H.]

  If we look again at Noah’s Ark, we note that it is 300 long and 30 tall. That is it can conceptually be viewed as 10 units that are 30x30x50 wide. That is a 3:3:5 ratio. If we double the dimensions given for the AoC, we get 5x3x3, with a volume of 45.
