Drones at Your Door

What could possibly go wrong, right? While this may seem like something straight from the Sci-fi channel Amazon.com’s ‘Prime Air’ arm of the company will soon begin testing their new drone-to-door same-day delivery services in Cambridge, England, in the hopes of offering something new and on the cutting edge. Last July the company requested permission from the US Federal Aviation Administration to start flying 50 MPH drones in Cambridge.
Amazon is not the only company seeking to take advantage of drone technology. German company DHL announced their drone delivery service in September, just 9-months after launching its ‘Parcelcopter”.
Although delivery-drone testing is being done in mostly flat rural areas with low air-traffic, accidents and mishaps are bound to happen. Will citizens around the world embrace these burgeoning services or will the idea of drones run-amuck in neighborhoods be too much for the populace to embrace?
