Must See!! Walking Dead Invade China
If you see dead people in China, especially walking dead people, you’d better not tell anyone. Or tweet about it.
A 21-year-old man named Mr. Zhang in the southern city of Guangzhou has been arrested and given 10 days “administrative detention”. His crime? He posted pictures of a zombie on Weibo. And a note which said the woman covered in blood was one of the walking dead. That’s when Chinese authorities arrested him for spreading a rumor that a video showing a so-called female zombie was factual.
Police say their investigation determined that Zhang was hoping to show off and get attention from friends.
If you don’t live in China, Weibo is a cross between Twitter and Facebook. It’s the leading Chinese microblogging service. It is also one of the most popular sites in China, used by more than 30% of Chinese Internet users.
Chinese authorities monitor Weibo carefully. They don’t want viral stories about zombies or aliens to cause widespread panic. Weibo is subject to pervasive censorship. Countless words are banned or draw immediate attention from the authorities.
Before arresting Zhang, the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau published a notice on its official Sina Weibo saying the walking dead images were a hoax:
“#Weibo Rumor Refutation# Just now Baby Shoes asked Little Editor whether or not there really was a female zombie biting people on Nantian Road last night? After Little Editor finished watching he found the video that was the setting for the background, and in fact they were from a movie! We ask that people do not believe this, and to not further spread this rumor and as for those so-called “zombie drugs”: methcathinone and similar chemicals can produce strong hallucinations and abnormal psychological conditions in those who consume them. But the effects produced are many and various. Cherish life, stay away from drugs.”
The screenshot below was posted by the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau. It shows the fake walking dead woman with the Chinese word for “False” (假) pasted beside her.
Official reports said the images of the walking dead woman were actually from a zombie movie shot in Jiangsu Province. They added a warning that residents should avoid using hallucinogens and other drugs.
Zhang is not the first person who has used social media to spread tales of the walking dead. .
Last year photos of a mummified corpse were posted online. Weibo rumors circulated that the photos were evidence of a zombie in the eastern city of Nanjing. But police quickly squelched these walking dead rumors. Police said the photos were from an archaeological dig in Henan Province.
And the mummy? Just the well-preserved body of a Qing dynasty official. He was dead, but not walking dead.
Chinese authorities are also cracking down on Weibo posts about aliens. Or alleged sightings of fabulous beasts and mythical animals in rural areas.
So if you run into a zombie or an extraterrestrial in China, don’t tweet about it.

Yet all the nut jobs posting crap about Nibiru and gun grabbing and lizard people on this website think that they live in a country that is a police state.
I am all for freedom, but i think the Chinese are on to something with that law
I’m certain that the rest of the US Population not brainwashed by the bible-nuts don’t feel as if they live in a police and probably do welcome added security.
