Usually I’d place UFO sightings, such as that above, in a category that is psychologically or neurologically oriented but with so many reports of a like kind (as those Paul Dean has collected and offered for scrutiny), the odds that people were (or are) mass-afflicted by a mental scourge is rather hard to accept.

But offering the ET invasion scenario is just as hard or harder to accept.

And a mis-perception of prosaic or mundane objects, while possible seems improbable. Otherwise we’d have to discount observation (or witness testimony) as so flawed as to be worthless.

People do see strange things and report them, rather accurately, even taking into account the contingencies of observational maladies.

So how do we reconcile such accounts with reality?
