Ghost House Progress Report

What a weekend!

I’m exhausted, but proud of my ability to participate and help pack and move at least lighter stuff into the POD. It is nearly full now.

We had one person show up for Saturday’s “Packing Party”– and we kicked the most ass that day. Tess, meanwhile, has really helped pack– and she does it RIGHT. No throwing anything willie-nillie into a box. She packs at her job for a living, so she knows how to put things together and use packing paper and bubble wrap. (We had to pull apart and re-pack boxes our extra help did, by contrast– sigh!)

Bringing Tess over for a few days was a good call! She’s totally earning the van Cat has decided to give her to pay her for her work here. Tess will also be here through Tuesday early evening, so we still have 2 days to get shit accomplished.

Which we’ll need. We got a lot done, but the kitchen and master bedroom still have a ton left to do. We’re supposed to put this on the market Tuesday, but I think Wednesday or Thursday is more likely.

We’re tired and it is a lot to do…

I can also tell Cat is used to being able to pay professionals do do this, because she’s more panicky and despondent about the process while doing it herself. I’ve had to do this over and over and over, and I hate it, but I know it gets done eventually. The exhaustion and mess of it all is just what happens. I suppose some adversity is a good thing to build some resilience.

Thank all that is holy that I got my Lyrica! I’m not having pain issues, despite all the shit I’ve been doing. A serious miracle. The fatigue isn’t even getting to me as much, though I have to be careful with that. But honestly, I can crash by the weekend and just maintain a tiny bit after that, so pushing now is worth it. The only thing making this a bit harder is that during weekdays, Tess and I aren’t ready to roll until after noon, while Cat gets up early and is to bed by 8pm. That means only a few hours of time in-between in which to get shit done.
