25 Things for Surviving a Pandemic

A pandemic has the ability to incapacitate a significant portion of our population, disabling the infrastructure because of lack of manpower and can leave you without any utilities and other services because you don’t know how long it will last.

A pandemic may occur if a deadly virus begins to infect our population and spread easily form one person to another, and no one can predict when it will happen.

If ever a pandemic happens, are you ready to impose a quarantine of your own that could last for 30 up to 120 days or so?

One of the best ways to survive a pandemic is to isolate your family from other infected individuals until the pandemic is over. This could take from months to years. Since there is a possibility that you will not know the people who are infected, it is better that you stay away from other people. There is a possibility that you might stay at home for a long period of time. If this happens you will need a lot of supplies for survival, like food, water, medical supplies, etc.

Some people might not be aware of the dangers of a pandemic. They might still do their daily routine, like going to work, going to the grocery store, and others. They might expose and put themselves at risk of being infected with the virus or disease.

You do not want you and your family to get infected during a pandemic.

Here is a list of things that can help you survive a pandemic.

1. At least 4 boxes of latex gloves – buy different sizes for each member of the family
2. 5 gallons of liquid bleach for each member of your family – use these to sanitize everything
3. 20 rolls of paper towels for each member of the family
4. 25 lbs. of kitty litter for each member of the family – use them to clean up the body fluids of a sick member of the family
5. 25 lbs. of lime for each member of the family – use them for provisional toilets
6. 40 N95 masks for each member of the family
7. 50 heavy duty garbage bags for each member of the family – use them for provisional toilets and garbage
8. 100 feet roll of 4 mil plastic – use this to set up an isolation room
9. 100 ‘kitchen’ bags for each member of the family – use them for provisional toilets and garbage
10. 100 rolls of toilet paper for each member of the family – use them for personal sanitation
11. Antibacterial soap
12. A few boxes of Borax – use them for provisional toilets
13. Bed coverings
14. Containers for collecting, storing, and carrying water

16. Duct tape – you can also use this for setting up an isolation room

18. Good dish soap like ‘Dawn’ or other aggressive anti-grease formula
