LINCOLN-( Alicia Hardin has been selected as the wildlife division administrator for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

The wildlife division administrator oversees the Commission’s hunting and wildlife conservation programs.

“Alicia brings a wealth of knowledge to the position,” Commission Director Jim Douglas said. “Over the years she has worked directly with many programs and initiatives, and she will bring valuable first-hand experience and insight to this role.”

Hardin, a 16-year veteran of the Commission, has been an assistant wildlife division administrator for the Partners Section since 2011. The Partners Section leverages dollars and activities with conservation partners to work on private and governmental lands to enhance wildlife. Recently, she was instrumental in the development of the Berggren Plan for Pheasants, the Commission’s five-year plan for improving pheasant populations, habitat and hunting opportunities in Nebraska.

A native of Omaha, Hardin grew up camping and exploring the outdoors. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in wildlife management from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Outside of work, she enjoys turkey and pheasant hunting, bird watching and spending time with her husband and two sons.

“I think we have a lot to be proud of in Nebraska with our amazing wildlife resources and the people that enjoy them,” Hardin said. “I am honored and humbled to be able to serve the people of Nebraska and lead this passionate team of wildlife professionals.”
