CONROE, TEXAS -(Ammoland.com)-Texas Armament & Technology (TxAT) and Aguila Ammunition have been named the 2016 Importer of the Year by the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW).
President of TxAT, Leon Brener, accepted the award on Tuesday evening at the NASGW Awards Reception & Dinner during the NASGW Expo & 43rdAnnual Meeting in Kansas City, Missouri.
“Each year, NASGW awards the top manufacturers who best demonstrate a commitment to the two-step distribution process, and who provide outstanding value and service,” states Kenyon Gleason, President of NASGW. “Wholesaler members evaluate the performance of our manufacturers on four key criteria; distribution policy; marketing, sales and promotion; logistics and operations and NASGW and industry support.”
“Being named the Importer of the Year is an honor. It means that our key business/distribution partners, recognize our team as the best of the best,” says Leon Brener, President of TxAT. “We truly value the relationships we have built with our partners, and work hard (from the manufacturing facility in Cuernavaca, Mexico to our team in Conroe, Texas) to implement and maintain true two-step distribution through our wholesale partners. This ensures consumers are receiving the highest level of service through the channel, working back from their dealer, to the distributor and from the manufacturer. We are truly grateful to be presented with this award and our entire team will continue to uphold the standards that we are being recognized for. “
Gleason explains, “We enjoy working with the team at TxAT/Aguila. They’ve made a big footprint in the industry in a short time and more importantly, they are firm supporters of the two-step distribution process. You can only win the NASGW Leadership Awards if that’s the case, so they certainly deserve the recognition.”
The National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers is comprised of wholesalers, manufacturers, independent sales reps, media and service providers – both national and international – all of whom are primarily focused on shooting sports equipment and accessories. As a trade association representing the business interests of its members, NASGW’s mission is to bring shooting sports buyers and sellers together. The NASGW awards dinner sets the stage for three days of productive meetings as distributors, manufacturers, manufacturer’s reps and media prepare for the coming sales year.
