USA -( The man just can’t help himself.

Chairman Loertscher (R-32) — who killed Constitutional Carry for several years — is at it again. He is killing Castle Doctrine for Idaho! This is the 2nd pro-gun bill he is refusing to hear just this year.

Rep. Christy Zito (R-23), who is sponsoring the Castle Doctrine bill, has done everything that was asked of her by the Chairman. She jumped through all the hoops and got the run around for weeks. She is tired and frustrated.

She needs your help. More on that below.

For weeks Chairman Loertscher tried to claim there were “language issues” with the bill. He tried to claim that it was “poorly written.” There are even rumors that he laughed at how the bill was written.

Each “flaw” that he tried to bring up was easily rebutted by Alexandria, our attorney.

What he didn’t know at the time is that Alexandria Kincaid, Idaho’s top civil defense attorney, wrote the bill. She modeled the legislation after other states who already have solid Castle Doctrine as law.

That means, there are no “language” issues and that this legislation is solid. That means that he is simply giving Rep. Zito the run around.

This façade that Chairman Loertscher is perpetuating is nothing more than a political game with your gun rights!

How many years do Idahoans have to endure this?

How many years are Idaho gun owner’s desires going to be stifled by Chairman Loertscher and the Secret Gun Committee?

In 2016, Idaho’s gun owners handed both anti-gun Republicans and anti-gun Democrats losses in the Primary and General Elections. Across the country anti-gun politicians lost elections. Gun owners sent a message loud and clear: “Don’t mess with our gun rights!”

It is clear however that some in the Idaho legislature didn’t get the memo.

We remember all too well when they stalled in 2013 and 2014 on Constitutional Carry and assured Idahoans, “We will do it next year.” In 2015 they stalled again and refused to hear House Bill 89 — Constitutional Carry — backed by Rep. Heather Scott.

The battle in 2015 was the breaking point for many Idahoans. They had grown sick and tired of politicians standing in the way of their gun rights and they took action.

Well, here we are again.

The same Chairman, and the same Secret Gun Committee, are attempting to squash any hope of a meaningful gun bill being passed this year!

That’s why Rep. Zito and I need your immediate help!

What Can You Do?

>>> First, we need you to call both of your Representatives immediately and tell them to co-sponsor Rep. Christy Zito’s Castle Doctrine bill which is currently RS-25085C1.

The number to the switchboard is 208-332-1000 and they will connect you with your Representatives! Don’t forget that you have 2 of them.

After you have called your Representative, make sure to email them as well! You can find their office email/phone numbers in the State Legislative directory here.

>>> Second, call Chairman Tom Loertscher and demand that he give Rep. Zito’s bill a hearing! Tell him to stop blocking gun bills!

His phone number is 208-332-1183 and his email is

>>> Third, sign the petition for Castle Doctrine in Idaho right away!

>>> Finally, we need all the help we can get with mail, email, and social media to get the word out and mobilize gun owners.

The session is nearly half over and time is running out. That’s why your immediate action is needed!

We appreciate all that you do but this fight is not over. Your action now can help push Castle Doctrine forward in 2017.

Zach Brooks
