St. Paul, Minn.-( Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever named Bethany Erb as the organization’s new government affairs representative and its first Washington, D.C.-based employee.

A Capitol Hill veteran, Erb will strengthen Pheasants Forever’s national-level advocacy efforts to improve policies that benefit pheasants, quail and other wildlife, especially as they relate to the upcoming fight for a new and much improved Farm Bill, legislation critical to the nation’s farmland wildlife habitat conservation efforts.

Bethany is a native Montanan and has a strong resume in wildlife conservation policy and grassroots advocacy efforts across the states and in Washington, D.C. Erb comes to Pheasants Forever from the Land Trust Alliance where she worked as the western advocacy and outreach manager on issues including the Land and Water Conservation Fund and conservation easement tax incentives.

Bethany also served as an alternate on the White House Hunting Heritage Conservation Council, managed state programs as a director of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation and has experience with the Senate and U.S. Department of Agriculture. An active outdoorswoman and hunter, Bethany has a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness and resides in Alexandria, Virginia, with her family.

“Bethany will greatly improve our ability to put more wildlife habitat on the landscape, from grasslands in the Midwest for pheasants and non-game prairie birds, to food and water sources for sage grouse in the near west and nesting cover for mountain and desert quail in the far west,” said Dave Nomsen, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s vice president of governmental affairs. “Our voice for wildlife habitat conservation on behalf of our members just got louder.”

Erb is ready to pitch in. “I’m excited to be part of the Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever governmental affairs team and advocate for wildlife habitat conservation on the Hill. I can’t wait to get to work,” she said.

For more than 30 years, Pheasants Forever has excelled as an advocate for improved conservation policy through strong partnerships with state and federal agencies, goals guided by our 140,000 members and 700-plus chapters. For questions and interviews, please contact Nomsen at 605.864.8138.
