Bloomberg Author’s Group Continues Established Pattern of Manipulation and Deception

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- “Gun Safety Org Taps Book Professionals for New Advocacy Group,” a Thursday Publishers Weekly fake news story proclaims. That’s an objective characterization, and here’s how you can prove it to yourself.

First, note it appears under the “news” rather than “opinion” heading, yet the article makes no pretense of obtaining any viewpoints other than those lauding the Bloomberg effort. Then we can look at the author, Claire Kirch, not a reporter, but a professional PR flack who openly admits “I want to make sure that the politics of the book agree with my politics” before she will agree to represent an author.

“Everytown for Gun Safety, a three-year-old organization with three million supporters that advocates against gun violence, is launching a group for those in the book world called the Everytown Authors Council,” Kirch begins her naked advocacy piece.  Forget for a moment that what billionaire control freak Michael Bloomberg’s wholly-owned propaganda machine really advocates for is citizen disarmament edicts – just square Kirch’s unsubstantiated numbers claim with the reality of fewer than 96K Twitter followers, and you’ll get an idea of the number of supporters and their level of commitment.

“The Council will include over 130 writers, illustrators, editors, agents, and others in the publishing industry who, Everytown hopes, can ‘amplify the gun violence prevention movement through their words and through art,’” Kirch dutifully parrots.  So it’s not so much an “advocacy group” issuing organizational advisories as it is individual sellout “artists” assuming a role of masked propagandists in their “art.”

We’ve seen that before, during the Obama administration, when top adviser Valerie Jarrett recruited Hollywood writers and decision makers to tailor TV show scripts to plug Obamacare. And we’ve seen it more recently with the Brady Campaign bragging about its influence in getting gun owner control messages inserted in Designated Survivor, and Everytown partnering with House of Cards.

Leni Riefenstahl’s got nothing on the gun-grabbers. But the box office disaster that was “Miss Sloane” (and Harvey Weinstein’s cowardly hiding from his threat to “make [gun owners] wish they weren’t alive” with “The Senator’s Wife”) pretty much show no marketable public appetite for the direct, in-your-face approach. So the “medicine” needs to be mashed up and mixed in the “food.”

Members of the Bloomberg Propagandists Council are free to sell out on art and to subvert the true egalitarian power-sharing arrangement of an armed citizenry all they like. But without a disclaimer on their works disclosing such manipulation has been intentionally inserted, they and their publishers will be premeditatedly engaging in fraud against their readers.

Considering the company they keep, that’s hardly a surprise.

There are two upcoming events for the Bloomberg agitprop apparatchiks, Kirch advises:

• An “essay” contest in that noted molder of shamelessly manipulated opinions, Teen Vogue.
• And a chance to win an autographed targ …uh… book for everyone who advances terror interests and uses the #WearOrange social media hashtag on June 2. It’s pretty evident Bloomberg would like to impose that color scheme on all gun owners who would defy his infringements. And while, all things considered, #Wear Red might be more appropriate, that does suggest an idea with the potential to dwarf the Bloomberg effort with something constructive:
