NRA-ILA Anti-Gun BannerGun Ban Fail: FPC Tearing Down “West Coast Wall of Gun Control”

New Hampshire Firearms CoalitionUSA -(Ammoland.com)- Over the past two weeks, I warned you about Rep. Stephen Shurtleff’s (D-Merrimack 11) attempt to bring California Gun Control to New Hampshire.

If you missed those emails, I posted them on our website, click here for the first email and click here for the second, more detailed update and here for the last action alert.

I am pleased to report that yesterday, October 18, the House Rules Committee voted NOT to grant an exception to the rules to allow a late bill filing.

Without any delay, anti-gun State Senator Jeff Woodburn (D-District 1) vowed to introduce and pass a senate bill to ban bump stocks. Senator Woodburn also said that he would send Governor Chris Sununu a draft for his suggestions.

As we have previously reported, there is no way to define a bump stock without banning most popular upgrades to semi-automatic firearms. As I told you on in a previous alert, the free market created bump stocks in response to the arguably unconstitutional 1986 ban on the sale of new machineguns.

A machinegun is actually safer than a so called bump stock because it can be held tight an aimed while a bump stock will only work if the firearm is allowed to move back and forth. Here at NHFC we believe that the 1986 machinegun ban should be repealed.

Right now, California is the only state that bans so called “bump stocks” and Rep. Shurlteff said that:

“This bill is based on the California Penal Code,”

That’s right anti-gun Senator Woodburn is trying to bring California style gun control to New Hampshire. Based on news reports, Senator Woodburn will most likely just copy Rep. Shurtleff’s California style gun control bill that the Rules Committee wisely rejected.

A ban on so called “bump stocks” has been filed in the US House of Representatives. Our partners at Gun Owners of America have analyzed that bill and concluded that it will ban far more than just so called “bump stocks”. GOA said that:

“First, there is no way that Congress — or the administration — will be able to ban or regulate bump stocks without also opening the door to prohibitions on other parts, accessories and magazines.

This is because all of the legislative proposals currently on the table would ban ANY item or device that helps “accelerate the rate of fire” of a semi-automatic firearm.

Using that standard, you can kiss your detachable magazines goodbye!”

Based on GOA’s analysis, If Senator Woodburn is able to enact a ban bump fire stocks, there are many other firearms parts and accessories that will be swept up in such a ban. Lighter, match grade triggers, enhanced buffers for competitive shooting, polished bolts and triggers and much more. The list of prohibited items could be virtually endless.

Unlike real machineguns, semi-automatic firearms do not have a stated cyclic rate. They will only fire as fast as a shooter can pull, then release then pull the trigger again.

Two people, shooting the same firearm will shoot it at different speeds. There are many lawful devices that will allow someone to shoot a semi-automatic firearm faster. The list of prohibited items will be virtually endless and could even include magazines that use a heavier than normal spring to feed cartridges into a semi-automatic firearm.

The Second Amendment and Article 2a of the New Hampshire Constitution both say that the right of the people to keep and bear arms “shall not be infringed.” We at NHFC will not support any infringements of our rights — as they are not privileges from the government that can be revoked at will.

To support any infringement on bump stocks will weaken our ability to oppose the next infringement that comes down the pike.

Anyone who supports a ban on bump stocks needs to realize that one can create the same “bump fire” effect using rubber bands or belt loops. I wonder, will Rep. Shurtleff and Senator Woodburn try to ban these items next?

These are the reasons why the Shurtleff / Woodburn gun accessory ban must be stopped! It can ban virtually anything.

Here is what you need to do to help stop Sen. Woodburn’s gun ban from becoming a reality.

First, click here for Senator Woodburn’s contact information. Please be polite but firm when call or email him to let him know that you are well aware of his devious gun ban ideas and strongly urge him to drop the idea of banning objects at once and focus on real criminals.

After you have contacted Senator Woodburn, please click here for contact information for Governor Sununu and send the Governor this pre-written message:

Dear Governor Sununu:

I heard that Senator Woodburn is trying to persuade you to support his ban on so called bump stocks for semi-automatic firearms. I read that you even said you are open to the idea of banning these devices. California is the only state that bans these inanimate objects.

Please do not cooperate with Senator Woodburn and allow California style gun control to be enacted in New Hampshire. As the New Hampshire Firearms Coalition reported,Senator Woodburn is using the recent murders in Las Vegas as an excuse to enact sweeping gun control. I hope I can count on you to stop him and veto any gun control bills, (as defined by the New Hampshire Firearms Coalition), that might reach your desk.

The New Hampshire Firearms Coalition told me that any actions in support of banning any firearms, parts or accessories will be considered an anti-gun activity which they have promised to keep me informed about.

Thanks for your consideration.

If Senator Woodburn or Governor Sununu writes back to you please send me their response.

Thanks for your support!

In liberty,

Alan M. Rice
Vice President & Training Director – NHFC

P.S.: The New Hampshire Firearms Coalition is working tirelessly to keep gun owners like you up-to-date on as many gun issues as possible — please consider contributing to the effort by chipping in $15 or $20.

DICK ACT of 1902 . . . CAN’T BE REPEALED (GUN CONTROL FORBIDDEN) THE TRUMP CARD ENACTED BY CONGRESS FURTHER ASSERTING THE SECOND AMENDMENT AS UNTOUCHABLE

    NOVEMBER 29, 2016

The DICK ACT of 1902 also known as the Efficiency of Militia Bill H.R. 11654, of June 28, 1902 INVALIDATES ALL So-CALLED GUN-CONTROL LAWS. It also divides the militia into three distinct and separate entities.

The three classes H.R. 11654 provides for are the organized militia, henceforth known as the National Guard of the State, Territory and District of Columbia, the unorganized militia and the regular army. The militia encompasses every able-bodied male between the ages of 18 and 45. All members of the unorganized militia have the absolute personal right and 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms of any type, and as many as they can afford to buy.

The DICK ACT of 1902 CANNOT be REPEALED; to do so would violate bills of attainder and ex post facto laws which WOULD be YET ANOTHER GROSS VIOLATION of the U.S. CONSTITUTION and the BILL of RIGHTS.
The President of the United States has zero authority without violating the Constitution to call the National Guard to serve outside of their State borders.
