Clinton’s allegiance shifts from the progressives to the neocons — the latest example of ambition above all else

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

If someone had told me a month ago that the Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was running as a neoconservative I would have thought them crazy. Yet recent polls clearly show that America’s military think-tanks (the neocons) are almost unanimous in their rejection of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

From Henry Kissinger to former President George W. Bush, aging neocons have anted up a lot of money for Clinton, ignoring any falls, twitches and coughs. The world has become so strange that neoconservatives are turning to a leftist who will follow their orders should she become the next president of the United States.

While the old grey mare isn’t what she used to be, she doesn’t need to be. Whoever is elected president will find a massive war chest and the enthusiastic support of America’s oligarchy and its neoconservative wing. They will remain unchastised even after the Iraq war that cost 4,000 American and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi lives at a cost of $4 trillion.

November could provide the neocons that which people in politics rarely get — a second chance; all courtesy of Hillary Clinton who was once considered a dedicated liberal but who is just another political prostitute seeking ever more wealth and greater influence.

Her stratagem calls for the shredding of diplomatic relations with Moscow. With the help of CNN (Clinton News Network), Clinton’s message has been delivered — that the U.S. must prepare to re-engage an old enemy that has a professional army and has amassed a nuclear arsenal that dates back to the Cold War. This could happen if President Clinton identified Russia as a clear and present danger. But is a war with Russia even possible?

The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming

On June 20, 2015, Kim McLendon of the Inquisitr wrote that Vladimir Putin believes that Clinton, not Trump, is a threat that could cause a global war:

Ironically, Hillary Clinton’s war hawk ways have the Russian public scared to death in a very specific way, and the Kremlin is gearing up for what it perceives as an unwanted but inevitable war with Hillary.

Putin has even said, “Clinton is Satan incarnate.”

Putin does not obfuscate his opinion of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton. They are both Satan in his eyes. Many older Russians blame Bill Clinton for the collapse of the Russian economy during the 1990s, while younger people have formed their opinions based on Russian media reports.

Communism is no longer feared by Americans and Russians. Putin, the ex-KGB, is different than the old Communists of the Kremlin. He has the looks of a James Bond villain, and while his ambition is for the status quo, he harkens back to iron-fisted Soviet leaders.

The aging neocons understood that Putin was not a threat but an inconvenience in their world order.

In 2016 it was reported to the press and then to the public that Putin was set on Russian world domination while at the same time Trump exhibited dangerous naiveties and lacked the character he would need in the diplomatic ring.

Putin has a long way to go before Russia is anywhere close to dominating America, economically or militarily.

The numbers below reflect military disparities between the United States and Russia in 2008:

  • The United States has 3,318 combat aircraft compared to Russia’s 1,900.
  • The United States has 6,417 attack helicopters compared to Russia’s 1,655.
  • The United States has $682 billion in defense expenditures compared to Russia’s $93.76 billion in defense expenditures.
  • The United States had 10 nuclear aircraft carriers in 2008 compared to Russia’s one nuclear aircraft carrier.

Direct conflict has not openly occurred between the United States and Russia over the past century (although it is well documented that American jets battled Soviet fighters in Korea and Vietnam).

Such is not the case with Iran which continues to menace small U.S. Navy patrol boats operating in open waters near the Strait of Hormuz, America’s oil lifeline. Not much on this is reported, at least in comparison to the ad nauseam news about Putin and baseless stories from “unnamed sources” that Putin is practically running Trump’s campaign.

And remember the outcry when Trump said in an off-the-cuff remark that if Russia does have Mrs. Clinton’s emails would they please send them over? The 24-hour cable news cycle came unglued, inferring that Trump might be so ignorant as to share national security emails with the Kremlin.

Those crucifying Trump for his gaffe have forgotten what happened to President Ronald Reagan on August 11, 1984. During a sound check Reagan joked: “My fellow Americans, I’m pleased to tell you today that I’ve signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes.”

Reagan was embarrassed. He apologized to the country. The worst that was said about Reagan a few months before election ’84 is that the president made a wisecrack that wasn’t very funny. But a lot of things have changed in the past 30 years and the media has been doing a huge disservice to the country.

The vast majority of TV and print journalists are openly liberal, some going so far as to say it is their primary responsibility to see Clinton elected. That is not what they taught 35 years ago. My first publisher had these words on our publication’s masthead: “Let the truth be told.” Today even the once most respected publications follow the adage: “Let our opinions be sold.”

On September 20, 2015, Danny Haiphong, in his blog for the Black Agenda Report:

The Democrats have made Vladimir Putin “the primary boogeyman of Clinton’s campaign,” insanely blaming Russia for Donald Trump’s white nationalism. The historical reality is that the U.S. “birthed the most extreme nationalism the world has ever known when its founding rulers created a state based on white supremacy.” And it was Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who oversaw the coup in Ukraine that brought neo-Nazi parties to power.

Haiphong had more to say on Clinton’s careless conspiracy theories about Putin and Trump:

Hillary Clinton has revived anti-Russian dogma to fit the current times. Clinton has this time accused Russia not of a communist plot but of the complete opposite: fascism. She has long used Trump’s overt white supremacy to instill fear in the U.S. electorate. But to blame Putin for the rise of white supremacist nationalism is not only absurd, but dangerous as well. The accusations against Putin only heighten tensions between Washington and Moscow. And these tensions have reached World War III potential.

Clinton has only added fuel to the fire. In a moment where the US-NATO alliance has militarily surrounded Russia along its European border and waged a non-stop proxy war in Syria to weaken Russia’s position in the world

It’s unfair to say Trump would have an itchy trigger finger in a military confrontation. The truth is nobody knows how Trump will react under that kind of stress. That hasn’t slowed the tens of millions of dollars spent by Clinton in TV ads that equate the real estate mogul with the psychotic USAF General Buck Turgidson in the Armageddon film by Stanley Kubrick titled Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

It’s important to face this fact squarely: during the 20th Century, it was the Democratic Party that accounted for the lion’s share of foreign wars. Yet the majority of journalists believe in dovish Democrats and hawkish Republicans.

Tehran’s blood money

Washington’s debt to Tehran dates back to 1979 when $150 billion in weapon sales had been purchased by the Shah. But the hardware was not delivered because of America’s trade embargo.

However, the $400 million kicker delivered in cash to the Ayatollahs last January was inexcusable. It provides liquidity without records for terrorists who can now draw on vast amounts of cash for attacks on Christians, Jews and Westerners.

What is driving Obama’s Iran-policies during these closing months can only be guessed at, but it is clear that Obama is working hard to rehabilitate Iran’s international image which hit rock bottom in 2002 when President George W. Bush labeled Iran as one nation within the “axis of evil.” Almost 15 years later Obama, with the help of his allies in congress and the Fourth Estate, was rehabilitating Iran’s reputation even though it has a nasty habit of chanting, “Death to America.”

As to why Obama would want to heal relations with zealots like Ali Khamenei is open to speculation.

It could be related to Obama’s most trusted advisor, Valerie Jarrett, who has been loyal to the president and the first lady for more than a decade. The Iranian-born Jarrett has a personal residence at the White House and vacations with the Obama family.

It could also be that with time running down, Obama is more comfortable as his father’s son — an African Marxist at heart who despises much of what he sees in the United States. The America he experiences is the last colonial country ruled by whites where old slave wounds will not heal.

With so many Republicans opposing Trump it seems almost impossible for him to win short of a disclosure about Clinton’s emails or a revelation about her health. That means the neocons will get a second chance in reshaping the world. That is the price the world will have to pay.

Yours in good times and bad,

— John Myers
