When President-Elect Trump tweeted out on Twitter about the possibility of illegal immigrants tilting the popular vote, the mainstream media outlets went into overdrive. Others claimed he had no facts to back up his assertions. The Washington Post even stated that his assertions were just a result huge ego and no substance.
Certainly, most would say that President-Elect Trump has a huge ego. Most in his position do have big egos. However, the threat of illegal immigrants and other ineligible people voting in our elections has nothing to do with the ego of our President-Elect. I would guess, it is the bruised egos of the mainstream media that should actually be in question here.
To call President-Elect Trump a liar is especially laughable when this allegation comes from the same media, which has been caught in so many lies and distortions of the truth through this election cycle. In addition, the idea that President-Elect Trump has to give out facts to support his claim of illegal votes is a representation of the biased media double standard. The media is completely ignoring the fact that there is no evidence of hacking, but Jill Stein continues to demand recounts. Voter fraud is a serious matter. The Tea Party has been fighting against voter fraud. The Tea Party is against any idea of illegal immigrants participating in our election process. The idea illegal activity being used to sway the election is much easier than hacking an entire system and not as far-fetched as people might think, especially in the State of California.
California has different laws and programs in place that could lead to widespread voter fraud. The most concerning set of laws deals with California’s AB-60. The AB-60 allows illegal immigrants to obtain a driver’s license. This driver’s license requires little documentation to obtain. If the person is unable to provide the documentation, they can appeal with an application of a waiver. Under California law, no one may question the legal status of the immigrant who presents this license. While a license alone is not enough to register to vote online in California, their paper voter’s registration card is quite different.
According to the eight page instruction booklet, put out by the City and County of San Francisco, in order to register to vote using the voter’ s registration card, a voter needs only a driver’s license number (or identification number) or a Social Security number, not both. In fact, there are provisions for people who have neither a driver’s license (state identification) nor a Social Security number. The Registrar of Voters will just issue you a number, as evidenced in the image on the right.
Another law that deserves some scrutiny is their “Voter Registration Confidentiality” law. The primary intent of this law is to protect the identity of victims of violent crime. However, this law is inundated with potential problems. A person who claims to be a victim can contact a Safe-at-Home program provider. The provider aids the alleged victim in registering to vote. They will also give resources for name changes and Social Security number changes. What are the requirements for such a program? An alleged victim only has to prove that they live somewhere in California. The alleged victim also has to sign an affidavit he or she is a victim. They do not even require a police report! I smell voter fraud here.
As we can see, giving illegal immigrants a driver’s license, having no true identification requirement for voter’s registration, and having a voter’s registration confidentiality law, is an open invitation to voter fraud. It is also concrete evidence that President-Elect Trump is not just speaking out of ego. California’s laws need some thorough examination, as they allow for penetration and abuse by illegal immigrants.
