This year marks the 19th run for Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival. Visitors are in for a real treat because the festival will run for a record 53 days. That’s 7 days longer than previous years. It kicks off on September 19th and runs through November 10th. If you are planning to attend this event, here’s what you should know.

A new marketplace for 2014.

Flavors of Argentina and Chili will be making their debut this year and will be featuring sustainable salmon. The Florida Local Marketplace will be replaced by the Farm Fresh Marketplace. Visitors will be able to taste farm fresh food in a variety of dishes such as pepper-coated bacon and egg dishes. Overall the food from 22 nations will be present at this event.: Africa, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Poland, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Singapore and South Korea.  It’s a great time to try something new from a country that you’ve never been to before.

Music to enjoy while you sample and mingle.

There will be many different individuals and groups performing at the food and wine festival. The lineup includes:

-Jo Dee Messina, September 19-21
-The Pointer Sisters, September 22-23
-Christopher Cross, September 26-27
-Fuel, October 9-10
-Jim Brickman, October 23-24
-Los Lonely Boys, October 25-26
-David Cook, November 6-7
-Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, November 8-10

Celebrity chefs will be on hand. One of the things that really makes the food fabulous at this event are the celebrity chefs. These chefs include John Stewart, Paula DaSilva, Jamie Deen and the “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro. Overall there will be over 270 chefs present at the food and wine festival.

The Welcome Center is filled with activities. Guests should plan to visit the welcome center as there’s so much to do. There will be culinary demonstrations, guest presenters and cooking tips. Wine seminars will also be available for a fee.

There’s a lot included for the ticket price. Tickets to Epcot cost $94 and the food and wine festival is included. Some items and events, such as tapas-sized plates, will require a separate pass in addition to the admission price. Guests can feel free to see all the sites that Epcot has to offer as well as ride the park’s attractions. Epcot will remain open until 10 pm. on the weekends to accommodate festival goers.

Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival is such a fun, annual event. Even if you don’t want to spend any extra and just want to experience the bare minimum at the festival, you really will get your money’s worth.

Not sure where to start? Here’s a preview of some of the wonderful dishes you can try.
