Have you resolved to do some traveling in 2015, but aren’t sure where to go? There are so many destinations to visit that it can be overwhelming trying to decide just where to travel too. Well you’re in luck because we’ve put together our list of the 10 places that you should see if traveling is one of your New Year’s resolutions.

Milan, Italy
One of the biggest reasons to visit Milan this year is that they will host Expo 2015. It will feature food exhibits from May 1st to October 31st. There is so much culture and history in Milan that it’s hard for us to think of a reason as to why you shouldn’t visit this city.

Gallipoli, Turkey
Gallipoli, Turkey is quite an interesting place. It is where the First World War took place and visitors can see memorials and battlefields. While it is possible to see all of it in a day, realistically visitors should plan on spending several days in the area. Travelers tend to stay in the city of Ecebat which is a short taxi ride away.

Mekong River Region
Located in Southeast Asia, the region of the Mekong River is a hot spot for travelers. One of the most popular ways to see this area is on a riverboat tour. For those that want to stay in the area there are quite a few new hotels. Adventurers can bike through some of the area’s villages or shop at a floating market.

Tanzania
Tanzania is located in east Africa and is bordered by Uganda and Kenya. There are 16 national parks in this country as well as many game reserves. Popular tourist attractions include Mount Kilimanjaro, Stone Town and the Serengeti National Park. Many individuals flock to the area to take advantage of the beautiful beaches or to go scuba diving off of the coast.

Choquequirao, Peru
Choquequirao is a very interesting place. It was originally occupied by the Incas and has an elevation of almost 10,000 feet. It’s quite a climb to get to the top, but it’s well worth it. Because it’s so remote it’s best to travel there with a small group and to go in June, July or August when it tends to be dry. Guided treks usually consist of four or five nights. After visiting Choquequirao, tourists tend to stay in the nearby city of Cachora.

Punta Del Este, Uruguay
The city of Punta Del Este is a desirable destination for those that want to soak up the sun on the beautiful beaches of Uruguay. Not only is it warm pretty much year round, but there’s a lot to do including watersports and an exciting nightlife. If you want to meet others and don’t mind a crowd then the summer months are when you should go. If you would prefer that the beaches be more deserted and have less activities going on, then the winter months are when you should travel to Punta Del Este. This area is one of the more expensive parts of Uruguay, but many travelers claim that it’s worth it as it’s rather urbanized and there are many exquisite hotels and restaurants.

Papua New Guinea
This is one of the world’s more exotic places. Only around 150,000 people travel to Papua New Guinea each year. This is probably mostly due to the fact that much of the country can be hard to get around in and you have to be pretty adventurous to travel to this island. Those who have visited Papau New Guinea claim that it’s a truly remarkable experience with all the unique fauna, diverse wildlife and the welcoming locals. Tourists tend to take part in scuba diving to see the untouched coral reefs, hike the Kokoda or go fishing to try to catch a tuna or marlin.

Zermatt, Switzerland
This used to be a remote location, but now it receives over a million travelers each year. It is the Matterhorn’s only village located on the Swiss side. Hotels are only a couple minutes away and the area is known for its year round skiing, and amazing views of the summit. The city is car-free so visitors will have to use an eTaxi or eBus, use a bike or just walk. No worries though as a car is really not needed to get around. Zermatt sees a lot of tourists in the months of July and August when the Zermatt Unplugged acoustic music festival is taking place.

Newfoundland, Canada
Although Newfoundland isn’t often in the news when it comes to travel, there are a lot of reasons as to why you should go there. Recently the Fogo Island Inn opened and it has created quite the fuss. The inn is absolutely stunning and has a rooftop sauna, a cinema and exquisite furnishings that have been made by local craftsmen. During the late spring you can catch a glimpse of an iceberg either by shore or by sea kayak. Many tourists also go whale or bird watching or attend one of the music festivals that take place from May until October. It can be pretty cold during the winter so if you visit Newfoundland we recommend going in the late spring or summer.

Zurich
This city looks like it is right out of a fairytale. The backdrop of Zurich is the Swiss Alps. There are cobblestone streets, unique architecture and rivers and lakes running close by. Visitor tend to visit some of the medieval churches or enjoy the many shopping opportunities.
