Coastal cliffs are often formed my erosion from waves. Since the world is made up of 70% water, these cliffs can be found all over the world. They are often breathtaking to see for yourself as they are generally quite an amazing site. There are 10 amazing coastal cliffs that tourists flock to each year.

•  Park Paracas, Ica, Peru

These cliffs can be found inside of the Paracas National Reservation. The cliffs are 600 feet long. The erosion of them has led to the formation of red sand beaches that provide an interesting backdrop against the cliffs.

• Etretat, Northwestern France

These gray and white cliffs are located in a farming commune. The cliffs are on the small side, but they offer some extraordinary views. They overlook the English Channel and allow onlookers to see rocks that jet out of the dark blue water.

• Cliffs of Moher, County Clare Ireland

This is one of the most famous sea cliffs in the world. They are about 400 feet high and located on the western coast of Ireland. Each year close to 1 million people visit the Cliffs of Moher each year.

• Twelve Apostles, Victoria Australia

The Twelve Apostles are located just off of the shore of Port Campbell National Park. They feature limestone cliffs and 147 foot high stacks of stone. They were small caves at first, but because of erosion that took place, they eventually became stacks.

The White Cliffs border the Strait of Dover. They are made out of calcium carbonate skeletons of ancient planktonic algae. The cliffs provide some of the best views in all of England.

These cliffs are one of the most popular attractions in Australia. At approximately 62 miles in length, they are the longest sea cliffs in the world. They are made out of limestone and at their highest point are 393 feet.

These cliffs are popular for not only tourists, but BASE jumpers. The nearby beach called Shipwreck Beach, is small and only accessible by boat. From the cove visitors can see clear blue water.

• Latrabjarg, Western Iceland

At 1,443 feet high at some parts of it, this is one of Iceland’s largest bird cliffs. It is easily accessible with a road that goes right too it. Latrabjarb is Europe’s most west point.

• Cabo Girao, Madeira Islands; Fira

This cliff is quite high at 1,870 feet. It offers a thrilling view of the ocean as well as the fields surrounding it. For parts of the cliff, it’s a sheer drop down which can be a scary sight to some.
